The Passier® Optimum II , the evolution of the Optimum dressage saddle, is the top of the Passier dressage line — the saddle for the rider who wants the most comfortable saddle with an exquisite riding sensation, with nothing left to compromise.

Sitting in it is the difference. The seat is deep and supportive, the Natural Grip leather extraordinarily soft and quietly tacky under you. The narrow twist brings the rider's seat in close proximation to the horse while the included "Queen Special" feature makes sure there is no moment tainted by discomfort in the pubic area.

The preformed flap hugs the thighs supports — so the saddle arrives already shaped to hold your leg in a balanced, quiet position. There is no stiff break-in period to ride through: the Optimum II is comfortable and secure from the very first ride, and only gets better from there.

Rider Comfort

  • Pre-formed flaps that hug the thigh supports, steadiying the leg without locking it in place
  • Selloil leather doubling on the small and large saddle flaps for a close, grippy seat
  • A V-girth arrangement with flat eyelets that keeps the saddle precisely where it belongs

Horse Comfort

  • Freedom panels give the shoulders room to move
  • The V-girth arrangement holds the saddle stable and consistent, stride after stride

This is a saddle riders keep. Like every Passier®, it is made to order in Hannover, Germany, on a craft tradition reaching back to 1867 — and like every Passier®, it holds its quality and its value for years of riding. Riders praise the feel in the saddle: how balanced, comfortable, and confident you feel every time you sit in it.

Please note — Configurable versus Custom Saddle
The configurable saddle (online order) is available only in the options and combinations shown above. A custom saddle — created through our proprietary Virtual Saddle Fitting process — offers many more options, including decorative details, color combinations, and additional gullet-plate configurations.

Saddle Size Adjustments
All Passier® saddle trees are adjustable by a professional Passier® fitter. To adjust your configured saddle after you receive it, please contact your Passier® fitter.

Return Policy
Configured saddles are made to order and are not returnable or refundable. If your circumstances change, we may be able to resell your new, unused saddle on commission on your behalf — this is the only accommodation we can offer. By ordering a configurable saddle, you consent to this policy.

Delivery Times
Delivery for configured, made-to-order Passier® saddles is approximately 8–10 weeks from the order date. By purchasing, you accept that this time may occasionally extend by up to 4 weeks.
