Virtual Saddle Fitting — Find Out If Your Saddle Truly Fits

Spring 2026 — Limited Offer

Does Your Saddle Actually Fit Your Horse?

Many don't. And your horse can't tell you — but their back, movement, and behavior can.

No obligation. No sales pressure. Just answers.

An in-person saddle fitting is always the ideal — it allows for the most direct assessment of horse, rider, and saddle together. However, for many riders across the US and Canada, a qualified fitter simply isn't within reach. That is exactly why HorseHaus developed the Virtual Saddle Fitting service.

"Most saddles we see were placed, not fitted. The difference shows up in your horse's back, their way of going, and — eventually — their willingness."

What We Often See

Saddle Fit Problems We Can Identify Remotely

Many of the most common saddle fit issues present clearly — once you know what to look for. These can all be assessed through the virtual fitting process.

Behavioral Issues

Bucking, resistance, pinned ears, reluctance to go forward. Often caused by a gullet plate that is too tight, tree points that are too long, or a saddle that bridges.

Rider Discomfort or Imbalance

Sitting pommel- or cantle-high, difficulty maintaining position, discomfort in seat or hip. Often a saddle balance or twist issue — not a rider problem.

Loss of Performance

Shortened stride, restricted shoulder movement, loss of impulsion or engagement. A saddle sitting too far forward blocks the shoulder — the horse simply cannot move freely.

Back Tension or Soreness

Sensitivity to grooming, cold-backed behavior, muscle atrophy behind the shoulder. These are the horse's clearest signals that something is wrong.

"

I am over the moon happy with Paddy's saddle. I am a big fan of yours and Passier FOREVER!

— Sara D., California

Custom Passier® Optimum with Virtual Saddle Fitting

My daughter and I worked remotely from Florida with Stefanie to fit two very different horses with completely different saddling needs. The process was very smooth and Stefanie is conscientious and easy to work with. Both horses have new saddles which fit them very well.

What's Included

Three Ways We Can Help

One fitting session can address any of the following — or a combination.

01

Evaluate Your Current Saddle

You have a saddle and want to know if it truly fits your horse. We assess fit, balance, and contact — and tell you honestly what we find.

02

Custom Passier® Fitting

Ready for a saddle built to your horse? We take precise measurements and work directly with the Passier workshop in Germany to specify your custom saddle.

03

Passier® Saddle Check & Adjustment

Already riding in a Passier? We assess the fit and coordinate sending the saddle to the Passier workshop for professional adjustments if needed.

Why It Matters

An Ill-Fitting Saddle Costs More Than a Fitting

Back pain, resistance, behavioral changes, loss of impulsion — these are symptoms, not personality traits. A proper fit is the foundation of everything.

We Read the Horse First

Grounded in anatomy, bodywork, and classical horsemanship — not brand methodology. The horse's comfort is the standard.

Virtual — Without Compromise

The measuring kit captures what matters. The Zoom session gives you Stefanie's full attention — wherever you are in the US.

Direct Line to the Passier Workshop

HorseHaus works directly with the Passier workshop in Germany — not through distributors. Your fitting informs a saddle built by the people who wrote the standard.

Authorized Passier® Retailer

If your horse needs a new saddle, HorseHaus carries Passier — one of Germany's most respected saddlemakers — with full fitting support.

How does "Virtual Saddle Fitting" work?

While an in-person visit by a qualified saddle fitter is ideal, a Virtual Saddle Fitting offers a reliable alternative—especially for riders without local access to certified expertise. Our proven process guides you through every essential measurement step, ensuring accuracy and clarity. During a scheduled Zoom session, we walk you through the fitting kit, review your horse’s conformation, and collect all relevant data to make informed saddle recommendations. Whether you're evaluating your current saddle or ordering a custom Passier®, our virtual service delivers expert guidance from anywhere in the USA or Canada.Read more here.

How long does it take to get a custom saddle?

As of fall/winter 2025, our lead times are 9-10 weeks from the date of order to the day you receive your Passier custom saddle.

Are Passier Saddles adjustable?

Yes, Passier® saddles are adjustable — but only by a qualified professional.

The gullet plate width of a Passier saddle can be adjusted to better fit your horse’s conformation, but this should always be done by an authorized Passier® fitter using the correct equipment and expertise. We strongly advise against using mobile fitters with generic “crank machines” in their trucks, as improper adjustments can damage the saddle tree or compromise your horse’s comfort.
