A hoof pick is the one tool every horse needs every day, and most of them are small, slippery and easy to lose in the bedding. Taproot is the opposite: a substantial tool, nearly 7 inches long. Its extra-large wooden handle fills the hand, gives you leverage on packed mud and is hard to misplace.
The stainless steel hook works packed dirt and stones out of the sole and along the frog. Turn the pick over and the union fiber brush sweeps the hoof clean with its stiff, natural bristles.
