The Haas Feger is a German-made dandy brush with long, 8 cm synthetic bristles set in a large, easy-to-hold body. Feger means “sweeper” in German, and that is exactly what it does: after currying, it sweeps loosened dust, dirt and hair off the coat in long, even strokes.
Bristle length decides how a dandy brush feels. Longer bristles flex more and brush more softly; shorter bristles resist and flick more sharply. The Feger’s 8 cm bristles give a soft, sweeping flick that suits most coats and horses that dislike a stiff brush. For a firmer flick in a smaller brush, choose the Haas Dandy Brush – 5 cm, Medium-Firm All-Rounder.
